Knitted fabric is a fabric formed by bending yarn into loops with knitting needles and interlacing with each other. It is widely used in clothing, home textiles and other products. Knitted fabrics are divided into three categories, and different categories also have different characteristics.

Knitted cloth

1. Weft knitted fabric

Analysis: Using low-elastic polyester yarn or profiled polyester yarn, nylon yarn, cotton yarn, wool yarn, etc. as raw materials, it is knitted on the weft knitting machine by flat needle structure, rib flat needle structure, double rib flat needle structure, jacquard structure, etc. It is called weft knitted fabric.

Features: There are many varieties, mainly polyester yarn-dyed. Generally, it has good elasticity and extensibility, the fabric is soft, firm and wrinkle resistant, the hair feel is strong, and it is easy to wash and dry quickly; however, it has poor hygroscopicity, the fabric is not stiff enough, and it is easy to loosen and curl.

Application: Mainly used as men's and women's tops, suits, windbreakers, vests, skirts, jackets, children's clothing, etc.

2. Warp knitted fabric

Analysis: Polyester, nylon, vinylon, polypropylene and other synthetic filaments are often used as raw materials, and they are also called warp knitted fabrics woven from cotton, wool, silk, hemp, chemical fiber and their blended yarns.

Features: It has the advantages of good vertical dimensional stability, fabric stiffness, small looseness, no curling, and good air permeability. But its lateral extension, elasticity and softness are not as good as weft knitted fabrics. The main categories are: polyester warp knitted fabrics, warp knitted pile fabrics, warp knitted terry fabrics, etc.

Application: Mainly used as men's and women's tops, suits, jackets, children's clothing, shirts, sportswear, lapel T-shirts, pajamas, etc.

3. Hong Kong knitted woolen fabric

Hong Kong-type knitted woolen wool has the smooth, soft and bulky feel of cashmere fabrics, as well as the soft luster of silk fabrics, good drape and non-shrinking characteristics. Mainly used as fashion fabrics for spring, autumn and winter.

1. Although knitted fabric has its irreplaceable advantages over other fabrics, it is not perfect. When used as a garment fabric, it should pay attention to its physical characteristics such as expansion, curling, and loosening. Note: Try not to wash with hot water as much as possible, so it is very easy to wrinkle and shorten the fabric.

2. Knitted fabrics have looseness. When designing and making the model, we should pay attention to some of the knitted fabrics. Don't use too much exaggeration. Try not to design cutting lines and too many stitching seams to prevent the loosening of knitted loops And affect the aesthetics of clothing.
